Bless the Broken Road
Scrolling through Tiktok lately my feed has been nothing but things from my childhood, shows that I used to watch, songs I used to listen to etc… It’s been making me think back to the good ole days where I had nothing to worry about and just be a kid. So if I had the opportunity to go back and talk to my younger self I would give the following advice listed below:
Show yourself the same that you show for the people around you
Stop worrying about the future and just live in the moment
Start saving now even if its as low as $1 a month, it's going to build the older you get
It’s okay to say no, you don’t have to please everyone around you
Take more pictures with your friends and family. Pretty soon it’s all that you’re going to have of them
It’s okay to feel the emotions you feel, you don’t have to bottle them up inside
You’re not alone, you have people in your life that care and love you
Spend time with your grandparents because if you don’t when you get older your going to regret not spending that quality time that you still have to make memories
Start including your cousins and brother in your life, friends may come and go but their always going to be around to support you
It’s never too early to start journaling about your day. When you get older it’s going to be nice to read and remember what you did during your childhood
If I grew up with the knowledge, experience and the skills that I have now. There is no doubt that my life would’ve turned out differently. At the same time I’m grateful that I grew up the way that I did because it made me the kind of person I am today. I was able to meet the most amazing people in my life with the choices that I made. If I made any other choices I probably wouldn’t have gotten the opportunity to experience the friendships and the unforgettable memories I have made. We all have one life and I believe everything happens for a reason. We may have regrets and wish that it could’ve turned out differently but instead of dwelling on the past use it as a learning experience. It’s the only way to grow by getting a new perspective on your current situation. I want to end this entry by asking a question. If you had the opportunity to go back in time and give your younger self advice, what advice would you give them?
