“Fake it until You make it”

There was a time in the military career where I did fake it and no one seemed to notice. A time where I felt disconnected from everything and everyone around me. The feeling that you no longer have a purpose so you sit there and debate whether to go or stay. The thought and feeling that everyone is better off without you. You back this theory up when no one is hitting up your phone without you hitting them up first. So you wonder what’s the point and go weeks and even months without talking to anyone. So you go out with your friends to party and drink alcohol hoping that it will numb the pain and silence those thoughts that’s overwhelming you. The older you get you realize that you can’t go living this life as a lone wolf. You have to be vulnerable and let people in. If you don’t then you rob them of the opportunity of them being there for you. So if you’re struggling or life seems heavy, reach out to someone you trust and give them the opportunity to be there for you. Especially when it seems uncomfortable, this is a time to step out of your comfort zone.
